SG3000 in black metallic color!!
The SG2000, released in 1976 based on the SG175 and incorporating the opinions of many artists, was the flagship model of the YAMAHA SG at the time.
Then, in the 1980s, YAMAHA began developing a new flagship model that they considered ideal. This is how the SG3000 was released in 1982.
The SG3000 continues to use the T-cross one-piece neck used in the SG2000, and the basic wood structure is the same as the conventional SG, but there are new changes to the parts, the sustain block has been abolished and a newly developed narrow bridge has been adopted, and Spinex pickups are used for the pickups. The narrow bridge has a slimmer appearance than the conventional wide travel bridge, and the distance to the tailpiece is narrower than the SG2000, and the specifications have been changed to inherit the spirit of the SG175 and other models. The newly developed Spinex pickup is a pickup that uses Spinex magnets, which Yamaha was the first to successfully put into practical use, and a base plate made of nickel silver, and it can enhance the high-pitched characteristics while providing delicate expression.
It also features the bi-sound used in the SG1000, making it a model worthy of being the flagship model of the SG.
It has a straight tone that is typical of the SG2000, but also has a unique sound that somehow gives off a mid-range component like a Les Paul!
