Hofner Contemporary Series violin bass!
This violin bass is the face of Hofner, famous for being used by the likes of Paul McCartney.
Manufactured in factories in Asia, the Contemporary Series is a low-cost model that maintains traditional style, featuring a traditional 30-inch short scale, a zero fret, a spruce top, and flame maple back and sides.
The sound produced by the hollow body without a sound hole is impressively compressed, similar to that of a solid wood bass, while still retaining the distinctive boxy feel of a violin bass!
Controls include front and rear pickup volume and volume on/off. You can also use the high-frequency-cut preset tone to create a unique sound!
