This is a TELEFUNKEN BC108C-equipped Fuzz Face from the late 1960s to early 1970s!
Introduced in late 1966, the Fuzz Face initially used the PNP germanium transistor NKT275, but in the late 1960s, this was upgraded to the NPN silicon transistor BC108 (also confirmed to be the BC109 and BC183L). There are also several variations in the housing and color. In 1968, Arbiter merged with Dallas Music, known for the Rangemaster, and the name became "DALLAS-ARBITER・ENGLAND." It was subsequently acquired by CBS in 1975. This unit is believed to be a "DALLAS-ARBITER・ENGLAND" model from the late 1960s to early 1970s. Unfortunately, it has since been replaced with a TELEFUNKEN BC108C. The silicon transistor BC108 offers more gain than the NKT275, and gradually increasing the fuzz control produces a thick, powerful sound. This unit has had its transistors replaced, but it still retains a wonderful sound that rivals the original.
