2018年、アメリカのバーモンド州に設立されたIRIS GUITAR COMPANY(アイリスギターカンパニー)は、コリングスやサンタクルーズなどのハイエンドアコースティックギターメーカーに勤めていた経験豊富なスタッフを揃える、注目のギターブランドです。
本器は、ブランドの中でも最もコンパクトなパーラーサイズ、アディロントップのThe BB Model Tobacco Burst。

Irisの中で最もコンパクトなこちらのBBは、50〜60年代にかけて起こったアメリカのフォークブームの中、エントリークラスの若人のために作られた3/4サイズのギターがモチーフとなったモデルです。
ボディは縮小しておりますが、スケールはミディアムスケールを保持したままで、アディロントップも手伝ってスナッピーでパンチが効いた力強いサウンドが特徴です。
何らストレスなく放たれるドライで素朴なサウンドは、アコースティックギターに求める暖かい部分がたっぷりと詰まっております。余計なことを考えず、気軽に爪弾いたり、軽くストロークするだけで様になる粋なギターです。
