Marine Nejime (born 1986) is a Japanese guitar maker who builds instruments under the name Alberto Nejime Ohno. He is the son of renowned luthier Kojiro Nejime, whose guitars have long been admired for their adherence to the Granada tradition.
Influenced by his father from an early age, Marine developed a deep interest in both music and craftsmanship during childhood. After graduating from Jiyu Gakuen in 2009, he decided to pursue guitar making professionally. Following several study trips to Spain, he moved to Granada in September 2012 for an extended stay, where he apprenticed under the legendary master Antonio Marín Montero, who had also been his father's teacher.
Grounded firmly in the traditional Spanish school of guitar making, Marine's instruments combine classical construction methods with a fresh and highly individual tonal character. Every guitar is unique, possessing its own distinct voice rather than conforming to a single formula. His exceptional craftsmanship, meticulous French polish, and refined attention to detail rival those of both his father and his celebrated mentor, resulting in instruments of remarkable elegance and understated beauty.
His work has also received international recognition. In 2017, he was awarded a prize at the Granada International Guitar Festival's Luthier Competition. Today, he produces only five to six guitars each year. His lineup includes the award-winning Granada Competition Model, two original models created exclusively for AURA Guitar Shop, and a Daniel Friederich model, each distinguished by its own unique tonal and structural characteristics. These instruments continue to earn increasing acclaim among guitar enthusiasts worldwide.
In 2020, Marine Nejime and his guitars were featured in Orfeo Magazine No.15, published by the French publisher Camino Verde.

Instrument Information
This instrument is a special model built using the small-body mold originally created by Alberto Nejime for his Original Model. The soundboard is crafted from an exceptional piece of premium spruce personally supplied by Ordigues, making this an especially distinctive and exclusive instrument.
Compared to the standard Original Model, it features a narrower body with a uniquely elongated silhouette, giving it an elegant, refined appearance while preserving the comfort and intimacy of a compact guitar.
The internal construction employs the same symmetrical seven-fan bracing pattern found in the standard Original Model. Despite its smaller body size, the guitar delivers remarkable acoustic efficiency and an abundance of rich overtones. The basses are warm and full without becoming overpowering, the midrange is rich yet exceptionally transparent, and the trebles possess brilliant clarity and beautiful tonal color. Its responsiveness is outstanding, faithfully translating every nuance of the player's touch—from the most delicate pianissimo to a powerful fortissimo—with exceptional precision and musical expression.
The compact body also contributes significantly to its superb playability. A comfortably proportioned neck and well-balanced string tension minimize fatigue in both hands, allowing for effortless performance even during extended playing sessions. Its forgiving response and wide dynamic range make it equally suitable for developing players and seasoned professionals, adapting naturally to a broad range of playing styles.
Visually, the guitar is every bit as captivating as its sound. The lustrous French polish, inherited from the tradition established by his father, Kojiro Nejime, beautifully enhances the natural character of the tonewoods. The understated yet imaginative rosette and the elegantly sculpted headstock reveal the maker's refined artistic sensibility and meticulous attention to detail.
Rather than relying on elaborate ornamentation, this guitar captivates through the harmony of carefully selected materials, thoughtful design, and impeccable craftsmanship. Quietly dignified yet unmistakably elegant, it embodies the distinctive refinement and artistic vision that define Marine Nejime's work.
