Kodaira is known as a Japanese classical guitar maker who combines traditional Spanish construction methods with a distinctly Japanese sensibility. Each instrument is handcrafted with a high level of technical expertise and a deep understanding of acoustic design. This is an AST30 No.04622, made in 2013, with a 650 mm scale length.

The instrument features a bright and lively tonal character, while retaining a solid and well-defined sound that never becomes overly light. It offers good volume and response, with a well-balanced overall setup. Although the sustain is moderate, the combination of brightness and substance in the tone reflects Kodaira's approach to guitar making. It is an excellent example of Kodaira's sincere and well-balanced approach to acoustic design.

The guitar has a polyurethane finish and is fitted with Gotoh tuning machines. The neck has a medium thickness and is straight, while the frets remain in good condition. The string tension is relatively soft, providing a forgiving response and a wide range of comfortable touch. Overall, it is a very easy instrument to play.

Approximately 11 years have passed since the guitar was made. Overall, it is in average used condition, with several areas showing signs of use. Fine scratches can be found on the back of the headstock, and there are scattered surface scratches across the back, apparently caused by contact with clothing during use. The finish remains in good condition, and the neck is also in good condition.

Regarding its repair history, there is evidence of a repaired crack on the bass side of the lower bout of the soundboard. Traces of adhesive can be seen where the crack was closed, but the repair appears to have been properly carried out and does not affect the instrument's current playability. There are also several small impact marks on the lower bout of the soundboard. These marks and the repair traces reflect the guitar's history of actual use, but do not compromise its structural integrity.
