What if it had a low-impedance pickup, a high/low switch, an 11-step rotary switch, and even a phase switch? What if it also had a different body construction, giving the sound a unique depth and loss... Wouldn't you be excited by the possibilities?
The Les Paul Recording, produced between 1971 and 1979, is a model that truly realized such "freedom in sound creation. Known as Les Paul's own favorite, it is full of designs that defy conventional wisdom. The initial model was equipped with a high/low switch, and the 11-step rotary switch allows fine tone adjustment by shaving the highs in stages. The unique sound of the center position with the phase switch is also appealing.
Furthermore, this model has a pancake-structured body made of mahogany with maple sandwiched between the mahogany, which gives both thickness and warmth to the sound. It has a unique presence both in the studio and at live performances.
This is an individualistic model that "chooses its user" and makes you think, "It's so cool that they came up with this kind of guitar. Still, for those who don't want to compromise on sound creation, this guitar is sure to be a good fit for you.
