YAMAHA's original model SG1000!
Around 1965, the development of Yamaha electric guitars began.
The late Genichi Kawakami, the president of the company at that time, ordered the staff to produce all original electric guitars.
This is how the YAMAHA SG was developed.
The SG1000 was released in 1976 and is still the most popular model of the SG.
The SG1000 features the Bi-Sound system, which allows a single sound to be obtained by coil-tapping the humbucking pickups, and the Direct Circuit, which prevents a drop to ground that would otherwise damage the high frequencies of the sound itself.
The sound has a very warm and full low midrange.
When switched to bi-sound, the full low mid gives a thicker sound like a P-90.
SG1000, the ''standard model'' of the SG, is the successor to the SG2000, and cannot be missed when talking about Japanese vintage guitars!
