[Overview]
Nishiki Biwa (four-stringed, five-pillared Satsuma Biwa*). Body: mulberry wood, back: keyaki wood. Weight: 3000 grams. Body width: 330 mm (maximum), thickness: approx. 50 mm. Accessories: Bachi (holly, with corner wear, 255 mm wide, 102 grams, with bachi sheath), pillar cover, nylon gig bag
*A four-pillared Satsuma Biwa has been modified to a Nishiki Biwa by adding a pillar between the main stem and the upper pillar.
[Condition]
Since the four-pillared Satsuma has been modified to a five-pillared one, there are traces of the pillar having been moved. Small chip at the tip of the shrimp tail. Part of the Toriguchi soot bamboo is chipped. Parts of both ends of the bridge on the handle are chipped. Other than that, there is no major damage or twisting of the neck, so you can enjoy playing it, but it is an unadjusted product. Please be aware that adjustment is necessary for serious performance. (There is no warranty after purchase, including for broken strings. Please note in advance.)
[Features]
This is a four-string, four-pillar Satsuma biwa, a four-string, five-pillar Satsuma biwa that was practiced and improved by Kinshin-ryu biwa player Suito Kinjo, and has been modified. (In the Showa era, five-stringed biwas with a compound string for the fourth string became popular, but when the Nishiki biwa first came on the market, it was a four-stringed one.) Put aside the history and changes of the Satsuma biwa for the moment and enjoy the mysterious sound.
