Mayones from Poland! The now discontinued Jabba Classic!
Founded in 1982, Mayones is a Polish handmade/high-end brand.
The instruments produced in the small but elite workshop are supported by many musicians and are attracting attention as a brand that supports the European music scene.
This Jabba Classic 4 is a model that is no longer in production in the current lineup.
It is made of wood materials such as a flame maple top, alder body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard, and has a 34.25-inch scale that is slightly longer than the normal long scale.
The small body with a deep cutaway has a step at the joint, achieving high playability in the high positions.
The preamp is equipped with Mayones' original M-BP2, and the control is 2Vol/2Band EQ/Tone/(Active/Passive) SW, allowing you to switch between active and passive.
It has the look of a sophisticated modern jazz bass, but its sound is clear yet warm, very straightforward and easy to use!
When the low/high is boosted, it is a little different from the so-called "boomy" sound, with a strong low-mid push, and I think it can play a bottom with a solid sense of pitch in the ensemble!
Even in passive mode, it outputs a plain sound with a core, so it seems easy to create sounds with amps and effects.
This is a recommended one for those who are looking for a bass with modern playability and a warm sound!
