This is the original overdrive, the OD-1 equipped with the JRC4558D!
This unit was manufactured around 1980, when the specifications were about to be changed from silver screws to black screws (thumb screws). The op-amp is the JRC4558D. It has a rich midrange and a mild, sticky sound. Even though it is the same dual op-amp, the NEC C4558C equipped version has more low end and a heavier sound. The distortion has a natural texture, and it can produce a drive sound with a solid edge that is full of rock feeling. By the way, this unit is serial number #9900 and was manufactured in October 1980.
