JJ-4 with Bartolini TCT!
The JJ-4 series has been loved by many musicians, including Larry Graham. This model has evolved with a wide variety of variations without changing the basic concept.
The JJ-4 is characterized by its slanted front pickup. This arrangement makes the sound of slap thumbing thicker and the sound of pulling sharper. It also has the advantage of making it easier to slap because there is more space around the neck on the 1st and 2nd strings than usual!
This model has an ash body, maple neck, and ebony fingerboard, and is equipped with Bartolini J/J pickups and a Bartolini TCT preamp.
The controls are 2Vol/Bass/Treble.
The combination of an ash body/ebony fingerboard and a TCT preamp produces the thick, tight bass sound that is typical of an active JJ-4, and a high range with good projection.
This is a guitar that we recommend for slap bassists!
