"Univox" is a trademark of Merson Musical Products Company (later Uni-cord) in New York, USA. SUPER-FUZZ was manufactured from around 1968 to the mid-1970s by Shin-ei Denki, a Japanese company known for producing the Uni-Vibe used by Jimi Hendrix. At that time, Shin-ei Denki released a number of effects pedals on behalf of many manufacturers, in addition to its own original products. This unit is a later model with a die-cast case, and in addition to this gray color, there are color variations such as orange/blue and black. The large pedal switch and vivid colors make a big impact. As for the controls, it is equipped with a knob for distortion and level, and a switch to switch between two tones: V-shari and mid-boost. In addition, the board has a semi-fixed octave balance trim, allowing you to adjust the output of the upper octave sound. The sound is very eccentric, with a rough, distorted texture, metallic highs, and a roaring low range. In addition, it has a unique moistness that makes it feel original. The TONE selector allows you to switch between an eardrum-shattering hysterical sound and an Octavia-like sound. It is also well known for being used by Pete Townshend of The Who.
