大阪に工房を構える女性ウクレレ・ルシアー、“チハレ”こと濱田千春氏。鉄道関連のデザイナーや家具木工所の職人としての経験を経て、2007年に京都の占部英明氏に師事。もともと高い木工技術を備えていたこともあり、短期間でめきめきと腕を上げ、同年に自身のブランド「Chihale Works」を立ち上げて独立しました。
1本ごとに施される繊細なインレイワークと精緻な木工技術が高く評価され、現在は常に2~3年待ちのオーダーが入る人気ルシアーです。彼女の手によって生み出されるウクレレは、“チハレレ”の愛称で親しまれ、テレビなどのメディアにも取り上げられるなど、全国的な注目を集めています。

本器は、三木楽器創業200周年を記念して製作いただいた特別モデル。Chihale Works初の試みとなるオールローズウッドボディを採用したパイナップルシェイプウクレレです。ホンジュラスマホガニーネック、ローズウッド指板&ブリッジ、ローズウッドナット、牛骨サドル、ゴトー製UPTペグを搭載。アバロンのロゼッタとボディトリム、ブラウンセルのバインディングが美しく調和しています。
さらにロゼッタ周囲には、ハワイアンコア材とアバロンによるフラワーインレイが施され、チハレレならではの美意識と遊び心が感じられます。

響かせるのが難しいとされるオールローズウッドボディですが、本器では木材の質量や厚みが職人ならでは感覚で丁寧に調整されており、重たくなりすぎず、芯のある音にウクレレらしい軽快さ・甘さ・深みが同居する絶妙なバランスに仕上がっています。パイナップルシェイプならではのふくよかな響きに加え、一般的なコンサートサイズウクレレと同等の演奏性も兼ね備えており、扱いやすさと高い表現力をあわせ持つ仕様となっています。

200周年を記念した特別デザインの手書きインナーラベルも見逃せないポイント。クールさと可愛らしさが共存する、まさに記念にふさわしい一本です。
