This is a Distortion+ with the original script logo, featuring the UA741CP op amp!
This was a groundbreaking and wonderful model, featuring a die-cast case that offered unprecedented durability and compactness at the time. Simple controls with only drive and level make it compatible with any amp or guitar, and it's easy to find the right sound. This unit comes in an original MXR case, rather than the early BUD case. Another distinctive feature of this model is the slightly different color scheme from current models. The impressive high-frequency extension creates a wild, three-dimensional distortion. The distortion level responds well to the guitar volume control, allowing you to use it with the same feeling as if you were running it directly through an amp. Turning down the guitar volume produces a warm, edgy distortion. Script-era units have become increasingly difficult to obtain in recent years.
