Pre-Arnie's Vintage StingRay!
After Leo Fender left Fender in 1972, he founded Music Man, a new company.
Music Man released the StingRay in 1976. It is the bass that brought active basses to the world's attention, and while it has undergone minor changes to this day, it remains a classic bass that has remained largely unchanged in shape and style.
This model features a four-point neck joint and a through-the-top bridge.
The potentiometers date to 1981.
Ash body with maple fingerboard. Its distinctive flat body shape without elbow cuts produces a crisp, well-defined, and powerful sound that only the StingRay can produce.
Controls include a 1Voltage control and a 2-band EQ, with bass/treble boost only. We recommend using it to add character rather than to shape your sound!
Not only is it easier to use than current models with boost/cut EQ, but the sound is also different.
It retains the distinctive StingRay attack, but its 40-plus years of age also give it a woody tone, creating a mature sound.
It is listed as player's condition, but there are no issues with playability.
This pre-amp is rare on the market. Even if you don't like the peaky sound of a StingRay, this is one you should definitely try!
