Product Description

This pedal-type distortion generator was released in the mid-1990s!

ROCKMAN is well known for its half-size modules like the SUSTAINOR and rack-mounted units like the XPR, but it also released several other pedal effects in the mid-1990s. These included the RWV-1 WAH-VOL, ACOUSTIC GUITAR PEDAL, STEREO CHURUS (I/II), and this ULTIMATUM DISTORTION GENERATOR, as well as its slightly revised version, the DISTORTION GENERATOR II. This unit reproduces the natural saturation of tube amps and tape recorders. With four controls—VOLUME, TREBLE, BASS, and GAIN—you can easily achieve the hard distortion that's so characteristic of ROCKMAN. The gain setting is high, and even with the GAIN turned all the way down, there's still plenty of distortion. The BASS control is also very powerful, making it suitable for 7-string guitars and low-tune guitars. It can be powered by two 9V batteries or a separately sold 12V DC adapter (center positive). This is a rare model that's hard to find even on the used market these days.
