A "deluxe" jazz bass with modern specifications that hones tradition!
The American Deluxe series was launched in 1998. While maintaining Fender's signature sound, it uses parts that are suited to the modern music scene, pursuing "sound quality specifications" and incorporating more modern specifications than standard models.
This 2004 model is equipped with SCN (Samarium Cobalt Noiseless) pickups, a bridge that can be configured with either back-through or front-through pickups, and a five-point joint with a heel cut.
It is an 18V active bass with controls for volume, pickup balance, treble, bass, and middle.
Perhaps unique to active circuits of this era, turning down the middle EQ also significantly reduces the volume.
The EQ has a very gentle curve, making it a convenient control for making small adjustments at hand.
With the EQ set flat, it produces a clean, traditional Fender sound.
This is a recommended guitar for anyone looking for a powerful, noiseless jazz bass that delivers the classic Fender sound!
