Mark Kendrick is the master builder who worked on Eric Clapton's own Stratocaster.
He joined Music Man in 1976, then G&L before joining Fender in 1991.
He had a close connection with Leo Fender, and describes himself as "a builder who is ingrained in Fender."
This 2003 Fender Custom Shop MBS Mark Kendrick Custom Clapton Stratocaster was built by Mark Kendrick.
With experience working on Clapton's own model, this one truly deserves to be called a true Clapton model.
The familiar mid-boost and TBX controls are, of course, still present.
Due to Clapton's own desire to "make no distinction between commercially available models and the one he uses," the specifications are identical to the commercially available model.
However, thanks to Mark Kendrick's hand-crafted techniques and carefully selected materials, the high-frequency expansion, rich midrange, comfortable neck grip, and playability clearly set it apart from commercially available Stratocasters.
This is a special Stratocaster perfect for Clapton fans looking for a guitar they can cherish for the rest of their lives, as well as those who are embarrassed to have Clapton's name on the headstock but still want the best Clapton model.
