Sonic Fuzzは、1966年製のVox Distortion Boosterをベースにしています。ブライアンメイのサウンドを研究していたベテランビルダーChris MahoneyはブライアンのRed Specialに搭載されたVox Distortion Boosterに注目し、アレンジを施してペダル化しました。

どのTone Benderクローンよりもインパクトがあり、シンプルな1ノブでありながら、ギターのボリューム操作だけで図太いファズサウンド〜クランチ〜クリーンまでギタリストの表現力の幅を広げてくれる弾いてて楽しくなるファズペダルです。
