1963 Fender Stratocaster "Ash Body with Blond Re-Finished by J.W Black" is in stock now!


This early round fingerboard '63 Stratocaster has been very popular in the vintage market in recent years!

This is a rare Blond Re-Finished Stratocaster with Blond Re-Finished by J.W. Black, a master builder of the early Fender Custom Shop, which was available for order at an additional cost when it was new. Mr. "J.W.Black", a master builder of the early Fender Custom Shop, refinished and aged this model.

The original blonde finish on the ash body was refinished to the same color, so I imagine this was done because of some paint damage, but the original blonde finish remains on the neck pocket and tremolo cavity. The neck pocket and tremolo cavity still have the original blonde finish, and the tremolo cavity has been aged at the same time, leaving the body date of "9 / 63".

The neck has been oversprayed with clear coat, and "2 SEP 63 B" is still stamped on the heel of the neck.

The pickups are original black bobbin period, the switch is original 3-way, the pots are original volume pots, and the tone pole is dated '73.

Other hardware such as tuners, tremolo unit, etc. are also original vintage, pickguard is reproduced with aged green guard, and even the crack on the bass side of the front pickup, which is often seen on the originals, has been reproduced, but there is no crack in fact! Other plastic parts such as pickup covers are original.

The sound is a fat sound inherited from the slab neck period, with the added attack characteristic of ash wood,
This guitar has not only a fat sound, but also a very thick sound with a clear core!

If it were in the original finish, it would have a very high price tag, but it is a refinish,
