A 1961/62 Fender Stratocaster “Sonic Blue Re-Finished” has arrived in stock
A 1962 Stratocaster with a slab neck!
The body has been refinished from its original Sunburst finish to Sonic Blue, but
the neck pocket, tremolo back cavity, and pickup cavities still retain their original Sunburst finish
Some time has passed since the refinish, and signs of playwear and weather checking are visible;
the finish itself is nitrocellulose lacquer.
Additionally, the neck retains its original finish, the headstock decal is original, and the neck date is November 1961.
In terms of components, the pickups feature original black bobbins; the pot date is early 1962; the rest of the assembly is original; the pickguard is the original green guard; and the other plastic parts are also original. As for the hardware, aside from the bridge height adjustment screw and the arm bar—which were replaced with later-era parts—everything else, including the tuners, is original.
Additionally, the frets and nut have been replaced, and it’s in excellent playing condition!
While many refinished guitars often come with replaced parts, this particular instrument boasts a high level of authenticity in both its finish and components—making it a surprisingly rare find on the market.
An original Sonic Blue slab neck would naturally cost well over 100,000 yen, but more importantly, they’re virtually impossible to find on the market! Although this Stratocaster has been refinished, it retains its vintage charm and delivers a vintage sound without compromise—making it a fantastic “playable vintage” instrument!
Comes with the original brown Tolex hard case.
